It is important to understand the difference between a “cove” and a “beach”: a cove is a small, sheltered bay or inlet, often surrounded by rocks or vegetation, while a beach is generally a larger stretch of sand that is more open to the sea.

Anse Gros Raisin Beach is the closest beach to Sainte-Luce town centre. Coming from Fort-de-France, at the roundabout after the Total petrol station, take the first left. At the end of the road, turn left again towards the town centre. After the Pura Vida restaurant, take the first road on your left. You’re there! You can now relax on this beautiful fine-sand beach and swim in its turquoise waters.
At weekends, you may be lucky enough to see teams training on yoles, Martinique’s traditional sailing boats. Don’t forget to bring your trainers so you can enjoy the fitness trail running along Anse Gros Raisin. As you exercise, take in the views towards Sainte-Anne and the many shades of blue stretching out to sea.
Take your time to browse the shops in the town centre or enjoy a local dish at one of the typical Creole restaurants, with your feet in the sand. Finally, the beach is also the starting point of a 4 km marked hiking trail leading to Anse Désert in Sainte-Luce, which runs alongside the D7.

Anse Mabouya Beach is known for its peaceful atmosphere and stunning views of Diamond Rock. Located slightly away from the main tourist areas, this beach offers a quiet setting, ideal for those looking to escape the crowds.
Its more secluded access helps preserve this peaceful atmosphere. From the beach, you can also admire Morne Larcher, easily recognizable by its distinctive silhouette, nicknamed “the Sleeping Woman”.
The beach features fine sand and crystal-clear waters, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Trees provide plenty of shade along the beach, offering many spots to relax away from the sun. Showers, discreetly located behind the trees, also allow you to rinse off after swimming.
