Partial Collision Damage Waiver (PCDW) for your car rental in Martinique

When you rent a car in Martinique, an excess may remain payable if the vehicle is damaged. This is the maximum amount you could have to pay for covered damage. With Partial Collision Damage Waiver (PCDW), you can reduce this amount, depending on the vehicle category and the terms of your rental agreement.

Why choose Partial Collision Damage Waiver?

Damage to your rental car can lead to an unexpected expense. With Partial Collision Damage Waiver (PCDW), you reduce the maximum amount you may have to pay for covered damage.

This option supplements Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), already included when you book on our website, further reducing the amount you may have to pay if covered damage occurs.

  • ✅ Lower out-of-pocket costs in the event of covered damage

  • ✅ A reduced risk of a large expense, helping protect your holiday budget

  • ✅ Greater peace of mind on the road and in car parks

  • ✅ Enhanced protection throughout your rental

  • ✅ A lower security deposit, with the amount depending on the vehicle category

PCDW: a small extra that could save you a big expense.

How do you choose Partial Collision Damage Waiver?

When booking on the Europcar Martinique website, select your vehicle and go to the “Protections & options” step. If PCDW is available for your chosen vehicle category, you can select it from the additional protections.

The daily price and reduced excess amount are displayed before you confirm your booking. You can also view the details of the protection to check what is covered and what could remain payable.

Unsure whether to choose a partial or total excess waiver? Our team can help you understand the difference and choose the protection that suits your rental.

Partial Collision Damage Waiver selected during booking

With Total or Partial Collision Damage Waiver, you benefit from greater protection if something goes wrong. However, you remain responsible for certain costs:

  • Lost, broken or water-damaged keys, and the costs of replacing them.

  • Punctures and tyre damage.

  • Damage to the underside of the vehicle, including the lower body, front axle, oil sump or other components beneath the car.

  • Damage to the upper parts of the vehicle, particularly following a collision with an obstacle or a tree branch.

  • Water damage, depending on the circumstances and the terms of your rental agreement.

  • Intentional damage or damage caused by improper use of the vehicle.

An excess waiver offers broad protection against unexpected incidents, but it does not cover everything. A quick look around the vehicle before setting off or manoeuvring can save you a lot of hassle: save your holiday budget for the good times!

For full details of the conditions and exclusions that apply to your rental, please consult our rental terms and conditions.

When available for your chosen vehicle, Total Collision Damage Waiver (TCDW) reduces your excess to €0 for covered damage, subject to the terms of your rental agreement. Certain types of damage and charges remain excluded. Partial Collision Damage Waiver (PCDW) reduces your excess but does not eliminate it.

Partial Collision Damage Waiver (PCDW) reduces the maximum amount you may have to pay for covered damage.

Total Collision Damage Waiver (TCDW) reduces this excess to €0 for damage covered by the option. Availability and conditions depend on your chosen vehicle and rental agreement.

The excess is the maximum amount you may have to pay for covered damage, subject to the terms of your rental agreement.

The security deposit provides security for any amounts you may owe the rental company in connection with your rental. It is therefore not necessarily the same amount as the excess.

Some bank cards include cover for damage to or theft of a rental vehicle. However, coverage depends on your card and its terms: it does not automatically replace an excess waiver.

Before booking, check with your bank or insurer whether your rental in Martinique is covered, which costs may be covered and whether you need to pay them upfront before claiming reimbursement. Also ask how this cover works alongside the protections included in your rental.

Our team can explain our protection options and help you compare. With PCDW, you directly reduce your excess for covered damage, giving you greater peace of mind during your stay.
