The Village of Vauclin, fishing and sports village

The village of Le Vauclin, specifically oriented towards fishing but also agriculture, located in the south-east of Martinique, is a place not to be missed during your discovery of the island, by rental car.

Still far from mass tourism, it emanates an undeniable sweetness of life. This town, populated by 9000 warm-hearted inhabitants, offers us its sea and its mountain as an attraction; beaches, hikes, practice of water activities of all kinds for the great happiness of vacationers in families, locals but especially amateurs or experienced followers of sailing and gliding sports such as windsurfing, catamaran, wakeboarding, sup, jetsky, and in particular, kite surfing. Indeed, this fabulous village is significantly famous because it benefits from an incomparable asset, sheltering one of the best spots of kite of Martinique: the Pointe Faula.

In the middle of banana fields at the entrance of Vauclin, the famous beach "Pointe Faula" is only 5 minutes away by car. To get there, the easiest way is to enter the town, reach the seafront and take the small road that goes to the right, direction south, the sea is on your left and after passing the port, where you may witness the arrival of a fishing skiff or gumboat, you will find yourself, in a rental car, on a wider road but not paved with a few holes, reminding us that we have to drive at a pace. But this small inconvenience is quickly forgotten, so much the landscape of an endless horizon on a sea with turquoise colors, takes by storm your glance, and swallows your eyes so much the amazement is total.

  After 300 meters... the "Pointe Faula" opens its scenery to us. This wide beach faces the lagoon formed by the coral reef. A narrow strip of sand dotted with coconut grass and a few grape trees line the shore offering us shade.  The water is shallow and warm, (between the knees and the waist), ideal for children!  The exceptional white sandy bottom penetrates for a distance of about 400 meters, before reaching the "pool".  

The coral reef that protects this distinctly different body of water is visible afterwards, but its location between the sea and the mountains ensures a steady wind and good thermal conditions, making it a paradise for windsurfers. Very well equipped, the "Pointe" with a large parking lot where you can park your rental car, tables carbets to picnic and restaurants snacks caravans and of course clubs and sailing schools, such as UCPA, the sailing club of Vauclin, Airfly.

The "Pointe" attracts and seduces a growing number of locals and tourists who come with their families to take advantage of this place so favorable for the practice of water sports, or simply to take advantage of the white bottoms to bathe in all peace.
