Europcar Martinique launches Ready its self-service car application published

Industries everywhere are evolving with technology, and this is also the case for the mobility and car rental sector. Europcar Martinique, with Ready, is the forerunner of a new model of car rental consumption in the French West Indies and Guyana.

What is Ready by Europcar ?

Ready by Europcar was created to improve and simplify the customer experience. Everyone is running out of time, whether on a business trip or on vacation. Ready by Europcar offers the comfort and autonomy needed to speed up the pick-up and drop-off.

All you need to pick up your rental car is your cell phone! It's magical. This technology is revolutionizing the way we want to rent and use cars by offering more convenience and, above all, saving time.

How does Ready by Europcar work ?

With Ready self-service cars, customers can book their rental car directly online or via the Ready app. Once the reservation has been made, the Ready app must be downloaded if it has not already been done. Indeed, the phone via the Ready app acts as a key to open and start the vehicle. That's it!

Don't worry if your vehicle doesn't open via the app, assistance is available 24 hours a day to help you if needed. Note however that you will need WiFi (to download the app) and Bluetooth to open and start the vehicle.

What are the advantages of self-service cars ?

Is there a difference between connected and self-service cars?

A connected car is a car equipped with wireless communication and other technologies that allow it to connect to the Internet and exchange data with other connected devices. This can include features such as advanced GPS navigation systems, parking sensors, rearview cameras, in-car entertainment systems, Bluetooth and WiFi connections, and more. Almost all new cars are connected.

The self-service part is a car that is made available to the public for temporary use, for a fee. In France, there are many players, the most famous being Auto-lib, Ubeeqo, Toolsa and now Ready! Self-service cars are usually parked in specific locations in the city, at the airport, where users can unlock them using a mobile app and use them to get from one place to another. The self-service cars are geotagged via an integrated geolocation system.
