Total Collision Damage Waiver (TCDW) for your car rental in Martinique
When you rent a car in Martinique, an excess may remain payable if the vehicle is damaged. This is the maximum amount you could have to pay for covered damage. With the total excess waiver (TCDW, for Total Collision Damage Waiver), you can reduce that excess to €0 for damage covered by the option, subject to the terms of your rental agreement.
Why choose the total excess waiver?
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) already limits your financial liability if the vehicle is damaged, but an excess may still apply. The total excess waiver removes that amount for damage covered by the option.
This means you know your chosen level of protection before you set off. A €0 excess does not, however, cover every type of damage or expense: certain situations remain excluded under the rental terms and conditions.
Which costs could you still have to pay?
Certain situations are excluded from the excess waiver, including:
lost keys, or keys locked inside the vehicle, and any resulting costs;
intentional damage, or damage resulting from negligence or a breach of the rental terms and conditions;
damage caused by using the wrong fuel;
damage to tyres, including punctures;
damage to the upper or underside of the vehicle caused by misjudging its height or ground clearance.
How do you choose the total excess waiver?
When booking on the Europcar Martinique website, review the protections offered for your selected vehicle. If the total excess waiver is available, you can add it to your rental at the options stage.
The daily price, excess amount and details of the protections are displayed before you confirm your booking. Availability depends on the vehicle category.
