At Europcar Martinique, we are committed to providing you with a quality rental experience. But before you set off, our teams take great care in preparing your vehicle.
Cleaning, checks and mechanical work when necessary: we show you exactly what happens between a vehicle being returned and its next rental.
How are Europcar rental cars prepared before you set off?
Step 1: your vehicle is cleaned and checked
It all starts when the vehicle is returned. Once it has been handed back, our vehicle preparation team takes over to clean it, check its overall condition and identify any potential issues before its next rental.
Our preparation team makes sure to:
clean the inside and outside of the vehicle;
check the condition of the tyres;
check the engine oil, coolant and windscreen washer fluid levels.
If everything is in order, the preparation can be completed. If an issue is identified, the vehicle is made unavailable for booking and referred to our mechanical team.
Step 2: when our mechanics take over
When an intervention is required, the vehicle is handed over to our mechanical team. Their role is to:
identify the source of the problem through checks and, when necessary, diagnostic tools;
work on the affected components, such as the tyres, brakes or battery;
make sure the vehicle is ready to get back on the road before returning it to the rental fleet.
A worn tyre, brake pads that need replacing, a faulty battery, or a mechanical, electrical or electronic issue may require their intervention.
Some faults require a thorough diagnostic process. Richard, a mechanic at Europcar Martinique, explains that the job requires a methodical approach, knowing how to use diagnostic tools and read technical diagrams, as well as strong analytical skills to identify the fault without replacing parts unnecessarily.
This problem-solving process is precisely one of the things he enjoys about his job:
“What I enjoy is finding the problem and working out the solution.”
Step 3: Step 3: ready for the next rental
Once the vehicle has been prepared and any potential issues have been addressed, it can be made available for its next rental.
