The stages of the 2026 Tour de Martinique
The route of the Martinique Cycling Tour covers a large part of the island. The riders pass through various towns, offering a wide variety of landscapes.
Parmi les routes emblématiques, on compte :
the roads of the northern Caribbean, around Saint-Pierre;
the hills of Morne-Rouge;
the coastal roads in the south;
the main roads running through Fort-de-France and the center of the island.
The best places to watch the race are the town centers, the spectacular climbs, and the stage finishes.
The Martinique Cycling Tour is a hugely popular event… and naturally, when a race crosses the island, certain roads may be temporarily closed to let the peloton pass. As a result, some traffic delays or congestion may occur in the towns along the route. To avoid any surprises, be sure to check the route and stage schedules, and allow a little extra time for your travels. Roads generally reopen quickly after the race has passed. And if you happen to come across the peloton by chance… take the opportunity to stop and enjoy the show. After all, it’s not every day that a bike race crosses your path. 🚴♂️🌴
The Martinique Cycling Tour has been around since the 1960s and has established itself over time as one of the major sporting events in the Caribbean. Each edition brings together local, Caribbean, and sometimes international teams. But what makes the race truly special is the atmosphere along the route. In every town the race passes through, residents gather to cheer on the riders. With music, honking horns, applause, and lively conversations… the atmosphere is often just as intense as the race itself.
